Nissan’s Caravan Mountain Base Looks Inspiring

Nissan is unveiling more information about its adventure van concept. The Japanese automaker recently revealed two van concepts at the 2022 Tokyo Auto Salon, the Mountain Base and Myroom. The Nissan Mountain Base serves as a remote workstation with rugged features and off-road capabilities. The Nissan Myroom goes the opposite way with a luxurious interior and comfortable materials. It almost serves as a mini-hotel on wheels. Both van concepts look inspiring and, if Nissan continues with production, they may change how people commute. We’ll be focusing on the Mountain Base for now, but the Myroom looks to be a pinnacle of comfort no matter the location. 

Nissan Caravan Mountain Base

The Nissan Caravan Mountain Base is a new van concept set to redefine how and where work is completed. From the looks of it, and based on Nissan’s fixtures, the Mountain Base serves as a remote workstation. Coupled with a rustic look, the van features exterior wood paneling to help give the feeling of a mountain lodge. The van also features off-road wheels and tires, protective bumpers, and a solar panel roof. With this concept, it seems that Nissan wanted to make a highly efficient vehicle that could offer a handyman everything they could need. 

Inside the Mountain Caravan Base, consumers will find a built-in bench and table that serves as a workstation. They will also note a widescreen TV which can be used to decompress after a long day’s work. Nissan wanted to continue with the mountainous theme so the inside has wood paneling on the walls, ceiling, and floor. There’s a structural lattice that supports the van and also serves as a place for gear like helmets, water bottles, coffee mugs, etc. Nissan also included an electric fireplace to complete the lodge feel. 

One of the more impressive features of the Mountain Base van is its adjustable solar panel. The panel rides flat on the roof collecting sunlight during drives and when camped, the panel tilts upward and rotates toward the sun to achieve even more efficiency. This concept van serves as the ultimate remote workstation. We’ll have to see if Nissan pursues its van concepts. Given the vast features and functions, there will definitely be some hype and excitement should Nissan release the van for purchase.
