Nissan to Unveil Two New Van Concepts

Nissan will be revealing two new van concepts at the 2022 Tokyo Auto Salon Show. As of late, the Japanese automaker has been focusing on electric vehicles, something many automakers have also been working toward. Nissan recently revealed its plans to invest about $18 billion into EVs. Although some may think Nissan is a bit late getting into the EV sphere, they have been steadily working on their own electric vehicles like the Nissan Ariya. For the upcoming auto show in Tokyo however, it seems Nissan will be revealing two new innovative concepts that stray from the traditional vehicle. Both camping vans, the Nissan Mountain Base and the Nissan Myroom look to redefine how consumers engage in outdoor hobbies and activities. We’ll be taking a look at Nissan’s concept vans, but from what we can see, they look set to inspire a new generation of campers.

Nissan to Debut Camping Van Concepts

Nissan will be unveiling two of its camping van concepts at the 2022 Tokyo Auto Salon show. The two vans are named the Nissan Mountain Base and Nissan Myroom. They are based on the NV350 Caravan minivan and both look to transform the traveling experience. The Nissan Mountain Base looks rugged and comes equipped with a workstation interior. The Nissan Myroom flips this and comes equipped like a mini-hotel on wheels. We’re not sure what Nissan intended with these concepts, but it’s certain that they’ll spark some interest and excitement should they follow through.

Nissan’s Mountain Base serves as a remote workstation. The camping van concept comes equipped with rugged and off-road features like off-road wheels and tires, protective bumpers, and wood paneling along the solar panel roof. It seems Nissan envisioned the most efficient vehicle that could offer everything a handyman could need. Inside the van, consumers will find a built-in bench and table that can be used as a remote workstation. There’s also a widescreen TV to decompress and unwind after a long day’s work. 

Nissan’s other concept van, the Myroom, looks to serve as a luxurious mini-hotel on wheels. The van features a modern and chic interior with a light wood-trimmed design. Nissan installed a couch, a mattress, drawers, and a magazine rack-style bookshelf. There’s also storage space under the floor. This concept could allow for longer trips to be enjoyed in comfort. They can also allow consumers to get away from it all while still having some sense of modernity. Nissan has not announced any real production plans for these concepts, but they do serve as a blueprint for future all-in-one vehicles. Whatever Nissan’s decision, we’ll be making sure to stay tuned for more.
