Nissan is planning on releasing four new vehicles in the next 18 months. The Japanese automaker has alluded to two of the four– the Nissan Patrol Warrior and an e-Power hybrid version of the Nissan Qashqai. The other two remain unclear. As of late, Nissan has been balancing electric and combustion engine vehicles. The automaker’s latest all-electric Nissan Ariya is a powerful EV that improves upon the Nissan Leaf’s capabilities. As for the combustion engine side, Nissan recently revealed the newly updated Nissan GT-R, which offers an impressive 600 horsepower. As the automaker navigates the surging EV wave, many wonder if Nissan will offer more EVs. We’ll look at the automaker’s future plans and see what consumers can expect.

Nissan Will Offer Four New Vehicles

Nissan is planning on offering four new vehicles in the next 18 months. The Japanese automaker confirmed two of the four, which include the Nissan Patrol Warrior and an e-Power hybrid version of the Nissan Qashqai. The remaining two vehicles need to be clarified. The new launch is surprising, given Nissan launched several updated versions of its current lineup. Newly updated vehicles included the Nissan Z sports car, the family-sized Pathfinder, the Nissan X-trail, and the Nissan Qashqai.

Two of the remaining vehicles expected to arrive from Nissan may be electric vehicles. Given the attention EVs have been given by various automakers, it would make sense to see Nissan aim for a more significant percentage of the sector. As a pioneer in EVs with the Leaf, Nissan has the reputation and capability to produce high-quality EVs. The Japanese automaker recently teased an all-electric pickup truck which would be a great addition to its lineup. Another vehicle that was teased was an electric version of the Nissan GT-R.

While it’s uncertain which two new vehicles Nissan will offer, we know that the automaker plans to produce more EVs. Recently Nissan stated that it would commit $17.6 billion over the next five years to improve its EV process. This commitment represents Nissan’s larger goal to launch 23 new EVs by 2030. In addition to new EVs, Nissan also wants to reduce the cost of lithium-ion batteries by 65 percent. With so much on the horizon, we’ll stay tuned for more information.
