Nissan to Roll Out Online Nissan@Home Service
Nissan will soon be rolling out a new online service that will allow consumers to experience the car buying process from the comfort of their home. Named Nissan@Home, the online car buying service will operate as a fully functioning dealership. According to Nissan, customers will be able to schedule appointments, browse inventory, and fill out negotiation paperwork. This new service likely comes from Nissan’s push toward EVs and hybrids. The Japanese automaker recently announced its plan to invest heavily in the EV sphere with the goal being 23 electric vehicles by 2030. Many automakers have been working toward EVs as a commitment to reducing carbon emissions. Nissan has teased one EV already, the 2023 Nissan Ariya, but with this new online service Nissan will help reduce its costs while improving the customer experience. We’ll take a closer look at the Nissan@Home service, but so far, it’s looking to revolutionize the car buying experience.
Nissan@Home to Transform Car Buying
Nissan will be implementing a new online car buying service for consumers. The Japanese automaker is calling the service Nissan@Home. It will essentially transform the car buying experience by allowing customers to handle all the aspects of purchasing a vehicle from the comfort of their homes. Nissan has already started testing the service with seven different dealerships in the US. So far, the service has been well-received with many praising the convenience and ease of function. About the Nissan@Home service, Banister Nissan of Chesapeake owner Dan Banister said,
“You see what’s happening now with holiday shopping. Online buying is massive and absolutely what today’s consumer is wanting. COVID-19 has only increased that demand,” said Dan Banister. “It was remarkable what we found during the test this summer. Our sales close rate nearly doubled with customers who used this online shopping solution.”
So far, the Nissan@Home service has been relatively successful. Consumers using the service are able to do just about everything they would at a physical dealership. Using their mobile device or computer, consumers can browse inventory, fill out negotiation paperwork, and even schedule service appointments and test drives. Nissan will soon be rolling out its online service nationwide. We’ll be waiting to hear if this online service can compete with physical stores, but so far it’s looking to make the car buying experience much easier.Â
