Nissan to Encourage Switch to Electric With EV Carefree+ Program
Nissan is launching an all-new EV program called EV Carefree+. By offering this program, Nissan is hoping it can entice more consumers to make the switch to electric vehicles. Having recently released its all-new 2023 Nissan Ariya, Nissan is paving the way forward for EVs. The Nissan Leaf was the first electric vehicle to be offered by Nissan, and though it started the initial trend for EVs, that wave soon fell off. Thankfully, Nissan, as well as many other automakers, have started to ramp up that wave once again in an effort to reduce global carbon emissions. The newly released Ariya improves upon the Leaf by offering increased performance and capability. With its new vehicle-to-grid charger and EV Carefree+ program, Nissan is hoping to attract more consumers to EVs. We’ll take a look at the new program and see what consumers can expect.  Â
Nissan Offers New Carefree+ Program for EV Owners
Nissan is launching a new program for EV owners. First shown at the 2022 Speciality Equipment Marketing Association (SEMA) show, this new program provides EV buyers with a stress-free experience as well as an all-inclusive benefits package. This package pairs with the latest EV charger that Nissan created which allows drivers to transfer excess energy from their vehicle to other mediums like energy grids and buildings. These products and programs help solidify Nissan’s electrification efforts and demonstrate its willingness to help customers have an affordable and effective transition to electric vehicles.Â
Included in Nissan’s Carefree+ program are benefits like EV charging, maintenance, insurance, and roadside assistance. For EV charging, those who purchase an electric vehicle from Nissan will receive complimentary charging from EVgo. Those who purchase the all-new 2023 Nissan Ariya receive a whole year of unlimited charging while those who purchase the Nissan Leaf will receive a $100 charging credit. Customers will also receive three years or 36,000 miles of maintenance.Â
The Carefree+ program also provides EV customers with battery insurance. Customers receive a battery warranty that covers 8 years or 100,000 miles. The last benefit EV customers get is roadside assistance. Nissan EV buyers receive 24/7 assistance for three years or 36,000 miles. This offer also covers towing should owners run of out charge. Nissan is hoping that these incentives will increase sales of its EV lineup. The automaker plans to have 40% of its total US sales come from EVs by 2030 so this is a great start toward meeting that goal.Â
