What to Expect from the All-New 2023 Nissan Ariya

Nissan’s all-new all-electric 2023 Nissan Ariya will soon open up to the public. The electric crossover SUV is set to come equipped with better efficiency and capability than the previous Nissan Leaf. Nissan is hoping its EV lineup can remain viable throughout the incoming EV wave. From the looks of the 2023 Ariya, it seems Nissan did an exceptional job. The electric crossover sits on the CMF-EV platform that was developed alongside Renault and Mitsubishi. The Ariya features either one of two external eight-pole motors depending on the trim.

Owners with a front-wheel-drive Nissan Ariya will utilize either a single motor that’s capable of about 226 horsepower and 221lb-ft of torque or a dual-motor with all-wheel drive. The dual-motor is capable of 389 horsepower and 442lb-ft of torque. Depending on the level of trim, Ariya owners will see a battery range of 265 miles to 300 miles.

Driving the Nissan Ariya

Owners driving the Nissan Ariya will note how engaging and smooth the crossover is. They can opt for either the single or dual motor, but both grant drivers a good amount of performance. Owners of the 2023 Ariya can also opt for a front-wheel-drive set-up which will provide a 0-60 mph time of 7.2. The second option is Nissan’s innovative e-4ORCE all-wheel-drive system which brings this number down to 4.9 seconds.

For the 2023 Ariya, Nissan’s engineers worked to make sure that the electric crossover is able to blend friction with regenerative braking. Driving the Ariya is smooth and owners can also make use of the e-Pedal which feels adequate and not too aggressive. The suspension is soft under heavier loadings, but this doesn’t take away from ride comfortability. 

Inside the Nissan Ariya

The 2023 Nissan Ariya is stylish and luxurious both inside and out. Narrow LED headlights and an expansive grille provide the crossover with a dominating front end. The falling roofline is designed in a way that doesn’t hinder cabin space. In fact, because the Ariya is electric and doesn’t have an engine, the SUV sees even more cabin space. Inside, owners will note a minimalist design that still feels lavish. Seats come heated and ventilated and owners can opt for either Nappa leather or cloth for the upholstery. There are two 12.3-inch display screens that serve as the infotainment and instrument cluster. There’s also a host of physical buttons on the steering wheel for audio and cruise functions. 

For technology and safety, the 2023 Nissan Ariya features a digital rear camera mirror and head-up display. There’s also Nissan’s safety shield 360 suite which includes advanced driver-assist technologies. Nissan recently released a price range of $40,000-60,000, so those looking forward to the all-new 2023 Nissan Ariya can expect to pay around this price.
