The 2023 Nissan Leaf arrives with new exterior styling and better aerodynamics. Nissan has decided to provide the all-electric SUV with a sharper look to fit in with its new EV, the 2023 Nissan Ariya. As of late, Nissan has been focusing on its electrification efforts. The Japanese automaker has invested billions of dollars into empowering its EV lineup. Although the Nissan Leaf has been around for almost a decade now, Nissan wants to add more capability and versatility to its lineup to better compete with emerging competitors. We’ll take a look at the new 2023 Nissan Leaf and see what consumers can expect from the updated electric SUV.

2023 Nissan Leaf Sees New Update

The 2023 Nissan Leaf will arrive with a new styling update. For the 2022 model year, Nissan wanted to enhance the all-electric SUV with a more modern look. The 2023 Leaf will arrive alongside the all-new 2023 Nissan Ariya. To better sell itself as a contemporary EV, Nissan wanted to give the Leaf a new look to help it stand out in the emerging EV market. The newly updated Nissan Leaf recently made its debut at the 2022 New York International Auto Show. There, consumers got to get a firsthand look at the new changes made.

Looking at the new 2023 Nissan Leaf, the most noticeable change is its front end. The electric SUV has been given a newly refreshed grille, front bumper, and headlights. Nissan’s logo has also been updated and provided with new illumination. The Japanese automaker has also stated that this new refresh will bring an update to the Leaf’s aerodynamics thereby giving it more capability and versatility. As far as the inside goes, not much has changed aside from an updated Nissan badge on the steering wheel.

The 2023 Nissan Leaf comes available in two trims, the S and SV Plus. The S trim comes equipped with a 40 kWh battery pack and a 110 kW motor that produces 147 horsepower. The SV Plus trim gets a 60 kWh battery pack and a more powerful 160 kW motor that’s capable of 214 horsepower. Both trims will feature a similar battery mile range as the 2022 Leaf, but the SV Plus trim will have an elevated sense of luxury. It will feature 5-spoke 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels and Nissan’s ProPilot Assist driver-assist technology. Those looking forward to the newly refreshed 2023 Nissan Leaf can get their hands on one in the summer of 2022.
